ALEXANDRA ROACH

Alexandra Roach was born in Wales. From a young age Alexandra wanted to be an actress. At 11, she joined the Mark Jermin Stage School and by the time she was in her teens, she landed a role as Elin on the long-running BBC Welsh show Pobol Y Cwm. Alexandra went on to win an award for Best Juvenile actor in a Soap at the Children in Entertainment Awards.

After leaving the show in 2005, Alexandra spent some time at the National Youth Theatre of Wales before attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (RADA). In 2010, she graduated from the academy with a Bachelor of Arts in acting.

Between 2010 to 2011, Alexandra made guest appearances on numerous British television shows, including The It Crowd (2010),Being Human (2011) and New Tricks.

She landed her first television movie in 2011, playing Constance Kent in The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher: The Murder at Road Hill House, which was based on true events.

Alexandra has had a number of high profile roles in films, starting with her portrayal of a young Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady (2011) alongside Meryl Streep. This film landed her a spot on the Screen International Stars of Tomorrowlist in 2011. She reinforced this title when she landed a role alongsidealso starred alongside Jack O’Connell and Richard Griffiths in Private Peaceful (2012) and played Julz in the Golden Globe-nominated One Chance (2013) opposite James Corden. The film, which is based on the true story of singer Paul Potts, won the Audience Choice Award at the Chicago International Film Festival in 2013.

Alexandra has since played starring roles in television shows such as Becky in Channel 4's science fiction drama Utopia (2013 to 2014) and DS Joy Freers in No Offence (2015)
