Date of Birth: June 18, 1990

Alex Roe is an actor who has found considerable work in television over the past five years, but has only recently begun making a name for himself on the big screen, appearing in major motion pictures such as The 5th Wave (2016) and Rings (2016).

Born Alexander Michael Roe-Brown in London, England, Alex grew up in Ladbroke Grove with a mother who was a ballet dancer. Although he couldn’t dance, he did follow her footsteps into the arts. In 2000, at just 10 years old, Alex attended an open audition and was cast in the role of the Antichrist in the horror flick The Calling, starring Canadian actress Laura Harris. He then landed a seven-episode run on the children's sci-fi drama series The Fugitives.

Although he had found solid work as an actor, Alex's real dream was to become a professional soccer player. “I played semi-pro at Chalfont St. Peter but it’s so hard to become a pro footballer — I think there’s even more competition than acting," he told the Evening Standard. "It was a real learning curve realizing that it probably wasn’t going to happen.”

It was that talent for sport, paired with his minor success as an actor, that earned him a sixth-form scholarship to the prestigious Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith. This is where actress Jennifer Saunders spotted him in the school's performance of Our Country's Good. Recognizing his natural talent, she approached the young lad and recommended he audition for the TV comedy series Jam and Jerusalem. It was very helpful advice, because he won the role. "That really kicked off my career," he said.

The following year Alex was cast in the teen drama miniseries The Cut. He played popular swimmer Elliott Baden for all 21 episodes. He considered going to drama school after this, but found he was getting enough work on his own. He continued working on the small screen over the next two years, landing guest roles on various TV shows. But in 2014, his attention quickly turned towards the silver screen when he secured a part in the action film Sniper: Legacy.

Next he starred as Evan Walker in the sci-fi thriller The 5th Wave (2016) opposite teen star Chloë Grace Moretz. The talented star has continued his hot streak in film, as he then starred as Holt in the horror remake Rings (2016), and then appeared in the drama Hot Summer Nights (2016). His latest role is in the romantic drama Forever My Girl (2018).

Alex previously dated to actress Olivia Cooke. As of 2015, he resides in Los Angeles.
