Alan Ruck is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Ferris Buller's best friend, Cameron Frye.

Alan was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where he graduated high school and went on to study at the University of Illinois, earing a bachelor’s degree in drama in 1979.

In 1983, Alan made his big screen debut in the film Bad Boys (1983) alongside Sean Penn.

It was not until 1986 when Alan helped create one of the most iconic characters in film. He boosted his career into stardom with his work on Ferris Buller's Day Off (1986), playing Cameron Frye, Ferris' best friend. Frye quickly became a fan favorite, and is referred to as one of the best characters in the whole movie. Thanks to his talent and work as Cameron Frye, Alan would go on to enjoy a lengthy career in both film and television for years to come.

In the '90s, Alan shifted his talent from comedy and showcased his versatility as an actor, appearing in films such as Speed (1994) alongside Keaunu Reeves, Star Trek: Generations (1994), and Twister. More recently, he starred alongside Vince Vaughn in the horror/comedy film Freaky (2020).

Alan has also enjoyed success on television as well, where his credits include shows such as Spin City (1996-2002) alongside Michael J. Fox and later Charlie Sheen. More recently, he has worked on The Exorcist (2016) series for Fox, and also had a main role on the HBO show Succession as Connor Rey.

Alan appeared on the 27th episode of the first season of The Loud House (2016), which earned him a Behind the Voice Actors Award nomination for Best Male Vocal Performance in a Television Series in a Guest Role.

In 1984 Alan married Claudia Stefany. The couple had two children together, Emma and Sam. They divorced in 2005. In 2008, Alan then married actress Marielle Enos. The two of them have two children, Vesper and Larkin. ~Sean Olegario
