Date of Birth: October 21, 1983

Aaron Kyle Tveit was born and raised in Middletown, New York. His last name, Tveit, is Norwegian and is pronounced Two-vate. He played soccer, basketball and baseball at Middletown High School, as well as performing in their theater productions and in the school choir.

He enrolled in the vocal performance program at Ithica College, then switched to the musical theater program after one year. After completing his second year of college, in 2004 Aaron was cast as Steve in the national touring company of RENT.

The following year, he joined the cast of the national tour of Hairpray, playing Link Larkin and in 2006, he made his Broadway debut in the same role at the Neil Simon Theatre.

More roles in stage productions followed, including a role as Fiyero in Wicked at the George Gershwin Theatre in 2008 and the starring role as Frank Abagnale, Jr. in the 2009 musical adaption Catch Me If You Can (based on the movie of the same name starring Leonardo DiCaprio). Also in 2008, he made his movie debut with a small role in Ghost Town, starring Ricky Gervais.

In 2009, Aaron was cast in a recurring role as Trip van der Bilt in the popular series Gossip Girl, and immediately caught the attention of the fans for his good looks and charm. He stayed with the show on and off for three years, while also performing in various stage productions on Broadway.

After filming a role in the movie Howl (2010), starring James Franco, Aaron played Roger Davis in another production of RENT, this time at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Vanessa Hudgens and Skylar Astin.

Aaron also gained fame when he was cast as Enjolras in the movie version of the stage musical Les Misérables. Because he'd already landed a starring role as an FBI agent in the new TV series Graceland, he had short hair and had to wear a wig in the musical. For his work in Les Misérables, he shared several Best Ensemble awards with the rest of the cast.

After filming completed in England, Aaron flew to Florida to begin work on his new series. The show kept him busy, but he managed a return to the stage to play John Wilkes Booth in the musical Assassins for several months in London's West End from November 2014 to February 8, 2015, while Graceland was on hiatus.

On January 21, 2016, Aaron played Danny Zuko to Julianne Hough's Sandy in the musical Grease: Live on the Fox Network. The three-hour event was a big hit, drawing in 12.2 million television viewers. Also starring Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, the musical was well received by critics.

Next up for Aaron is the upcoming CBS TV drama/horror series BrainDead.

In his spare time he enjoys playing sports such as basketball and baseball and was a member of the Broadway Softball League. He also played the starring role as a college baseball star who is overlooked by the major leagues in the indie film Undrafted (2016).
