AARON STANFORD

Date of Birth: May 18, 1977

Born in Westford, Massachusetts, Aaron Stanford graduated with a degree in theater from Rutgers University. His first professional acting job after graduation was to play David Letterman's deadbeat son in a skit on Late Show with David Letterman, but to his disappointment, the job was cancelled. Shortly after, however, at the age of 23, he landed the title role in the independent feature Tadpole, playing a precocious 15-year-old boy opposite Sigourney Weaver and Bebe Neuwirth. The film, which was shot on digital video in 14 days in 2000, was an instant success when it was shown at the Sundance Film Festival in 2002. Several companies put in bids for the film, with Miramax winning distribution rights. Stanford followed that up with stage work in New York City, playing Tommy in Life During Wartime for Inertia Productions, and Sid Vicious in Sid Vicious Does the Dishes at the Love Creek Short Play Festival.

His television debut came shortly after, with a recurring role on five episodes of the NBC-TV series Third Watch. He played small roles in Woody Allen's Hollywood Ending (2002) and in Spike Lee's 25th Hour (2002) before landing the coveted role of Pyro in the X-Men sequel, X2: X-Men United (2003). He was then asked to recreate it in X-Men: The Last Stand. (2006)

Stanford has also appeared in print ads for The Gap's Every Generation campaign, was named one of "10 Actors to Watch" in 2002 by Variety magazine and in April 2003 was featured by Details as one of 10 actors chosen by the magazine to have a strong chance to be "The Next Big Thing."

For now, he prefers to live on the east coast, and still rents an apartment with friends in New Jersey. He shares a website with his older brother Dave, a composer.
