The Ninth Gate Overview
Lucas Corso (Johnny Depp) is a rare book finder looking for two existing copies of the 17th century Book of the Doors to the Kingdom of Darkness, which is believed to hold the key to conjuring the Devil. Assisted by his best friend Bernie (James Russo), who owns a store of rare books, Lucas searches for the missing items unaware that the texts possess a curse that will plague the holder with misfortune or death. He travels to Paris where he meets Liana Telfer (Lena Olin), a person who may not be of this earth.
