Seahorses

In the midst of a religious celebration intended strictly for women, an eight-year-old Iranian girl living in Berlin with her biological father and his male partner suspects that she is being treated differently due to her father's unconventional lifestyle. Mina has lost her mother, and as if that isn't enough for a young girl to contend with, her peers have now ostracized her for something beyond her control. When her fathers prove incapable of remedying the situation, the troubled Mina decides to stop speaking to them as punishment. Shahla, who is struggling to pass her traditional values along to her uninterested daughter, Hoda, invited Mina to the celebration. As the mounting tension between mother and daughter leads to an intense showdown, Shahla quickly discovers that one can never truly escape the prison of one's past.
