Sonia Kronlund, who has covered many armed conflicts since 1999, knows Afghanistan well. This time, the documentary filmmaker decides to accompany Salim Shaheem, the popular director of the series Z, who’s currently filming his 111th film. Illiterate, this flamboyant Afghan choreographer improvises nonsensical scenarios that he films with a troupe of three faithful actors and extras recruited on the spot. With the help of the Afghan army, Shaheem will bring the filmmaker and her team to Bamiyan, where the Buddhas that were built a millennium and a half earlier, were destroyed by the Taliban.
