Men at Lunch

The story behind "Lunch Atop a Skyscraper," a 1932 photograph showing 11 workers on a break sitting on an outstretched beam 260 meters above the streets with their feet dangling during construction of the RCA Building (later renamed the GE Building) at Rockefeller Center in New York City. The photo, which depicts the men with box lunches and/or smoking, became famous because none of the men were wearing a safety harness, despite being 69 floors up. This movie tries to trace who these men were and where they were from, giving evidence that many of them were Irish immigrants.
