Following the daily life of Portuguese novelist José Samarago from 2006 to 2008. A 1998 Nobel Prize winner for Literature, he suffers from leukemia and feels his death approaching. This is a distressing situation, because he doesn't want to leave his beloved wife, Spanish journalist Pilar del Rio.
