Homeland

Farid, a student who has fully integrated into French society, must go to Algeria to save his elderly father’s home from demolition. On the eve of his exams, the young man is not enthusiastic about the journey, but he’s resolute, hoping to have everything in order within a week.

Upon arrival, Farid meets old friends of his father and a cousin who guides him through the administrative maze. But after a drinking binge in Algiers, his cousin robs Farid of his identity papers, forcing him to prolong his stay, which then takes a dramatic turn.
