Hathi

In a village south of India, Makbul, a 13-year-old boy, dreams of becoming a mahout (trainer of elephants) like his father. Given the responsibility to take care of an elephant calf, Vikrama, Makbul soon grows fond of the animal. When his father dies, the Government orders Vikrama to be sold and it is up to Makbul, who is now the head of the family, to take the pachyderm to its new owner.
