Eamon

It's said a boy's best friend is his mother, and one lad intends to keep it that way in this offbeat comedy from Ireland. Eamon (Robert Donnelly) is six years old and the apple of the eye of his mother Grace (Amy Kirwan). Eamon is very much aware of his mother's love for him, and he's more than happy to twist her devotion to his advantage, often at the expense of his missing father. Grace's current beau, Daniel (Darren Healy), is strongly attracted to her, but Eamon isn't about to let him spend any unsupervised time with his mother; he insists on sleeping with his mom, stays close to her when they travel to the beach, and will throw a tantrum if he senses Daniel is trying to make a move. When all seems lost, Eamon is also willing to turn to his secret weapon -- sugar, the forbidden food that turns him into a hyperactive maniac. The first feature film from writer and director Margaret Corkery, Eamon won the Independent Camera Award at the 2009 Karlovy Very Film Festival.
