Bonneville

Arvilla (Jessica Lange) has recently lost her husband, Joe, who died while on a trip to Borneo. His ashes have been sent to her home in Pocatella, Idaho. While she deals with this terrible shock, Arvilla is hounded by Francine (Christine Baranski), Joe's nasty daughter from a previous marriage. When Arvilla can’t find Joe's will, which outlines where he wants his ashes scattered, not to mention what Arvilla is to receive upon his death, Francine insists that her father be laid to rest in Santa Barbara alongside her mother. She then threatens to sell the house Joe and Arvilla lived in since they were married.

Making the best of a horrible situation, Arvilla sets off for California with Joe's remains, as well as her best friends, sassy Margene (Kathy Bates) and uptight Carol (Joan Allen). They hop in Joe's antique but spunky Bonneville convertible and make their way across the Western plains, stopping off at every place that Arvilla and Joe held dear, encountering adventures large and small.
