Walter Salles Interview

Taking inspiration from Jack Kerouac's novel "On The Road," Walter Salles directs the feature film of the same name starring Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley. He talks to Tribute's Bonnie Laufer about the importance of meeting the people behind this story, which surrounds the Beat Generation and a group of friends' search for "It," that one thing to give their life meaning. The semi-autobiographical storyline follows Dean Moriarty (Hedlund), the reckless friend that everybody wants but can't handle when he actually does become part of their life. Tensions rise and relationships are strained as the group travels across state lines in a classic tale of youth, drama and debauchery.
