Tommy Wirkola Interview

Director Tommy Wirkola was always fascinated with the story of Hansel and Gretel as a kid, so when he got older he wondered what their lives might have been like after their terrible ordeal of being held captive by a witch in her house made of candy.

He explores that idea in his new action-packed movie, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton as the titular siblings.

Tribute.ca spoke with Tommy in Los Angeles about the challenges he faced making the film and why he chose Jeremy and Gemma to play his heroes.
