Simon Wells (director/writer) and Wendy Wells (writer) - Mars Needs Moms Interview

Based on a beloved children's book, Mars Needs Moms is a new animated comedy about a nine-year-old boy named Milo who regrets having a spat with his mom after she is abducted by Martians. Director Simon Wells and his wife Wendy immediately saw it as an opportunity to make an animated film, so they assembled their cast and shot the entire film using motion capture.

Tribute's Bonnie Laufer spoke with Simon and Wendy in Los Angeles about taking our parents for granted, the joys of motion capture and thier unique vision of Mars.
