Director J.J. Abrams reveals that it wasn't until the cast and crew were filming on the first day in Abu Dhabi, after all the preparation was completed on Star Wars: The Force Awakens, that he really felt like he was making a Star Wars movie. He says the characters that the story focuses on are the heart and soul of this movie, rather than gadgets or spaceships.
