Director Benh Zeitlin is still pinching himself over the accolades and awards he received for his remarkable feature film debut, Beasts of the Southern Wild at both the Sundance and Cannes film festivals. The film's star, six-year-old newcomer Quvenzhane Wallis, steals ever scene she appears in and is already garnering early Oscar buzz.

Bonnie Laufer from Tribute spoke with Benh during a promotional stop in Toronto about his bright young star, the challenges he faced making the film and which directors have inspired him.
